Detroit Metropolitan Association (DMA)

The Detroit Metropolitan Association (DMA) is part of the Southeast Area Associations of the Michigan Conference, United Church of Christ and consists of 31 churches with 7 in Detroit city itself and the others in the surrounding area.  Scroll down to find a church in your area. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and has 4 Divisions: Christian Nurture; Church & Ministry; Congregational Life and Mission Outreach. The Joint Ministry Team is also a great part of the DMA, as are the UCC Women of Metro Detroit.

When you scroll down to find a local church, click on the church name and it will connect you to our page with information on that church, or to the churches own website.

As the Associate Conference Minister, Rev. Henrietta S. Andrews retired on May 31st and the Conference Minister, The Rev. Dr. Kent Ulery, moved to Bangor, Maine to become the President and Professor of Pastoral leadership at Bangor Theological Seminary June 30th, we were set into a "holding patern".

The Rev. Cheryl Burke, Associate Conference Minister for the Central Southwest and Covenant Associations stepped up as temporary Conference Ministers until The Conference Board of Directors officially selected the new Transition Interim Conference Minister, the Reverend Judith Youngman! Please note Judith will begin her tenure as Transition Interim Conference Minister September 1, 2008.

The Rev. Herman Haller is temporary ACM for the Detroit Metropolitan Association and the Rev. Sherry Schacht will is temporary ACM for the Eastern Association.

Take a minute to look through your new Directory .  Please send all questions and changes to the Southeast Area office (See the Southeast Area Office page for contact information). Please change ACM, Rev. Andrews' contact numbers and email to Rev. Haller's herman@michucc.org for DMA and Rev. Schacht sherry@michucc.org for Eastern.  Thank you.

Our Office Summer hours are 10am to 3pm Tuesday through Friday until September 2nd.  The new directories are printed and have been mailed to the churches.  Thank you for your patience.
